What were you doing before this traineeship?
After leaving education, I joined the banking sector in customer facing roles. My experiences in the past have been very much focused on dealing with public. In efforts to broaden my skills, I have also worked in pharmaceutical and optical establishments, which has been valuable in building an aptitude for working in a professional environment and adapting to challenges.
What has been your favourite part of the traineeship so far?
Having a back stage pass to seeing and understanding what goes on in Colchester + Ipswich Museums has been incredibly fascinating. It has been great exploring the collections and working with all the different teams. From this, I have realised the areas that I am more interested in and the skills I require to accomplish this. So far, I have really enjoyed putting together the exhibition design for the Battle of the Somme display. This has ranged from researching the objects to planning the layout and the visual elements of the display.
