Michael is a Training Museum Trainee based in Ipswich.
What were you doing before this traineeship?
I have been a freelance illustrator for nearly 30 years, making pictures for national newspapers and magazines, book publishers, TV and for advertising and design. Thinking up visual solutions and explanations for difficult subjects has been central to my approach.
Having worked from my desk at home all that time, I am looking forward to experiencing daily life in a museum.
Quick fire five:
1. Favourite drink?
East Anglian beer is the finest ale in the world with Lavender Honey and Umbel Ale being the best of the lot.
2. What music do you listen to?
Sliabh Luachra, Jazz, Early Music, Indian Classical, Erik Satie and Bobby Casey
3. Childhood dream job?
I was a very holy boy and wanted to be a priest.
4. Which three people you would invite to a dinner party (dead or alive)?
Caravaggio, Padraig OKeeffe and Spike Milligan – might be a bit rowdy!
5. What do you do in your spare time?
I play Irish Music, draw and paint, garden and trawl around art galleries.
