Ho ho ho! Mark reporting! (On behalf of my fellow Trainees)
It has been a very merry time in both Colchester and Ipswich, as we look forward to Christmas and all that comes with it. From joys to presents, but most importantly (of course!) the fun events we have been holding across both towns. For the last few weekends, I’ve been playing the role of the Forgetful Elf, “helping” Santa at Christchurch Mansion.
In Colchester, we’ve had Santa in his grotto at the Castle and an exciting Christmas trail (the reindeer have hidden the key to Santa’s sleigh). From what I’ve heard, elves have been running around all over the Castle, to make sure Santa’s grotto is ready for visitors.
Tim was dressed up as a Celt for the free Castle Christmas Open Evening on Wednesday 14 December. People were queuing out the door to see Santa, hear a range of incredible choirs and get their faces painted like a Celtic warrior!
Happy holidays from everyone at Colchester + Ipswich Museums. We hope you are having a fantastic Christmas Day and look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
